A Closer Look:
What a twisty-turvey route my life has taken in the last few years! After college on the East Coast, I spent 5 long years in the Navy, which took me to several places, including Atlanta, Seattle, a small island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and finally Southern California. After finally getting out of THAT nonsense (the military fantasies are FAR better than the reality), I moved to San Francisco and spent another 5 years in graduate school, earning my doctorate in clinical psychology. I wanted to be shrink. Or so I thought. After getting to the tail end of that, I decided my heart just wasn't in it: listening to people's problems requires a very unique set of passions and skills. Nevertheless, I decide to finish, ultimately graduated, and then went on to work where my true passion lies: WINE. I went to work for a couple of wineries in Napa, voyaging out for the first time onto the vast and exciting landscape of all that is wine. After my stint at the last winery, I went to work for a wineshop in SF where I tasted and learned a great deal about world wines, outside the rather insular world that is Napa. I eventually decided to pursue formal education in wine by enrolling in a two-year curriculum in Wine Education & Business based out of London and taught locally at an institute in Napa. In the meantime, I work from home as a consultant for a tech company doing financial administration -- yet another path off that twisty-turvey route of my life!
Blog Vision:
My hope is to share my excitement and enthusiasm about everything that is wine, yet at the same time to make it fun, interesting, and frankly quite titillating, by weaving anecdotes of my own personal (read: sexual) life into my journal entries. I hope you enjoy!
